Holey Moley Open: Mini-Golf Competition

The Holey Moley Open, dubbed “the world’s biggest mini-golf competition,” is making its U.S. debut this spring, with San Antonio as one of its three Texas locations. Teams of four, aged 21 and older, can register for free starting February 25, with registration closing on March 10. The competition features whimsical obstacles like giant clown mouths and windmills, offering participants a chance to win $10,000. The San Antonio city championship tees off on March 25, with the state final scheduled for April 8 in Austin. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and the event promises fun with DJs, confetti showers, and special food and drinks.

Private Screening of “Authentic Or Not” Documentary

San Antonio’s Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant is featured in the new documentary “Authentic Or Not,” which explores variations of Filipino cuisine globally. A private screening event is scheduled for March 2 at their Wurzbach Road location. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance or $30 at the door, including a buffet dinner showcasing authentic Filipino dishes. The documentary aims to uncover the diverse adaptations and acceptance of Filipino food worldwide.

Bubble Bath and QuikTrip Merger Celebration

To celebrate the merger of Bubble Bath Car Wash and QuikTrip, a special event offering $1 car washes will take place in San Antonio. Originally planned for February 22, the grand opening has been postponed to March 15 due to inclement weather. The event includes a live DJ, giveaways, free snacks and drinks, and an inflatable obstacle course. Proceeds will benefit the Judson Education Foundation.

Opening of Luz Roja Tex-Mex Restaurant

A new Tex-Mex restaurant, Luz Roja, is set to open on March 10 at the historic location of the former Blanco Cafe on 419 N. St. Mary’s Street. The restaurant offers a modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine, aiming to revitalize the Downtown West neighborhood.
